Ruskin

Ruskin sits on the bay in the SouthShore part of the county, and it has a history most of its newer residents do not know: it was founded as a socialist colony with a college attached, and the college is gone but the street grid is not.

Agriculture and water

Ruskin tomatoes are a real thing, and agriculture still runs here alongside the growth. E.G. Simmons Park gets you on the water, and Little Harbor is where people go for the beach that technically is not a beach.

The growth

SouthShore is absorbing an enormous amount of new housing, and Ruskin is in the middle of it. US 41 and the I-75 interchange at College Avenue carry most of it, and both are feeling it.
