Short-form video for local businesses in Brandon and east Hillsborough

Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts are where local attention is right now. We make short vertical video every day for our own pages and for clients, and we can make it for you.

Why short video, and why now

Open Instagram or Facebook and most of what you see is short vertical video. TikTok and YouTube Shorts are built around it. People in Brandon, Riverview and FishHawk scroll through it every day, and a business that shows up there in a real, local way gets noticed by people who were not looking for it yet.

We know this because we do it. We produce short vertical video every day across our own East of Tampa and Local Sports pages, and for clients. We see what people out here stop for and what they skip, every week.

Short video covers more of our Become Locally Famous framework than any other single service:

  • Short video in Level 3: Active. People see you every week.
  • Face-to-camera and Behind the scenes in Level 4: Known. People know who is behind the business.
  • Customer stories from Level 2: Trusted, told as video. One customer, one problem, how you fixed it.

The kinds of video we make

  • Face-to-camera. You, talking straight to the camera about what you do, what customers ask and what most people get wrong. We write short scripts that open with a hook and stay tight, so you are not rambling.
  • Behind the scenes. The work, the shop, the truck, the crew. A before and after on a driveway, a cake being finished, a kid's first visit going well. This is content people stop for because it is real.
  • Customer stories. A short video built around one real customer and one real problem. If the customer is willing, they tell it. If not, you tell it, with their review on screen.
  • Answers to common questions. The questions you get on the phone every week, answered in under a minute each. These also help with search, since people ask the same questions online.

How it works

  • Plan. We agree on what you sell, who buys it and what they need to see before they call. Then we plan a month of video around that.
  • Film. Either we film with you, or we give you a simple shot list and you film on your phone. Short sessions, not all-day shoots.
  • Edit. We cut it vertical, add captions people can read with the sound off, trim the slow parts and open each video with a hook.
  • Post. One video goes to Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts, on your accounts, on a set schedule.
  • Learn. We watch which videos hold attention and which do not, and make more of what works.

Consistency beats production value. A steady run of honest phone videos does more for a local business than one expensive video that sits alone on the page.

The videos that do well in east Hillsborough are specific. A pressure washing video that names the neighborhood. A dentist explaining what a first visit looks like for a nervous four year old, with the actual office in the shot. A bakery showing a cake for a FishHawk birthday party. People recognize the places and the faces, and that is what makes them stop.

The first second matters most. People decide fast whether to keep watching, so every video opens with a hook: a question, a surprising result, or the finished job before the work. Then it gets to the point. Most of our videos run well under a minute.

Captions matter too. A lot of people watch with the sound off, at a ballgame, in a waiting room, in line at pickup. If the words are not on screen, the message is lost. Every video we make has readable captions burned in.

It works better with the rest

Short video pairs naturally with social media management, which keeps your Facebook and Instagram active between videos. It also feeds paid ads. People who watch your videos can be shown your ads later through retargeting, and strong videos often make strong ads in Facebook ads management. Good reviews make good video, which is one more reason to keep them coming with review management.

We manage social for Little Fins Pediatric Dentistry in the Lithia area, among other local clients. You can see more of the work on the case studies page.

What it costs

Video is quoted per month or per project after a call. It depends on how many videos, who films and how much editing each one needs. We look at what you have and what you want, then give you a straight number.

East of Tampa is veteran-owned and based in FishHawk. John Plumstead graduated from West Point in 2009 and retired from the Army as a major, and he is on camera for our own pages most weeks, so we know what it takes to get comfortable there.

Questions owners ask

How much does short-form video production cost?

We quote it per month or per project after a call. The price depends on how many videos you want, whether we film on site or edit what you shoot, and how much editing each one needs. Call 813-495-2136 for a straight number.

Do I have to be on camera?

No, but it helps. People hire people, and a video of the owner talking about the work usually does more than a montage. If you are not comfortable yet, we start with behind-the-scenes and work footage and build up from there.

Do Instagram Reels work for a local business?

They can, when they are specific and local. A short video of your crew on a real job in Valrico gets more attention out here than a polished generic ad. The key is posting consistently, not making one perfect video.

Can I just film on my phone?

Yes. Most short-form video is shot on a phone. We tell you exactly what to film, and we handle the editing, captions, hooks and posting. Clear sound matters more than a fancy camera.

Where do the videos get posted?

On your own Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube Shorts. You own the accounts and the videos. One video can go to all of them.
