Google Business Profile management for east Hillsborough
When someone out here searches for what you do, the map results come first. We keep your Google Business Profile complete, active and consistent so you have a real shot at showing up there.
Why the map matters more out here
Search for a plumber, a dentist or a pressure washer from a phone in Brandon and the first thing you see is a map with three businesses on it. A lot of people call one of those three and never scroll further. That is your Google Business Profile, and for a local service business it is often worth more than your website.
The map is also very local. A search from a driveway off Big Bend Road in Riverview can show different businesses than the same search from a parking lot on Brandon Boulevard. If you serve Valrico, Lithia and FishHawk but your profile only says Brandon, you are leaving those searches on the table. Our Brandon marketing page and Plant City marketing page explain how different those markets are.
What Google says it looks at
We do not guess about this. Google's own guide, How to improve your local ranking on Google, says local results are based mainly on three things: relevance (how well your profile matches the search), distance (how far you are from the person searching) and prominence (how well known your business is, including reviews and what the rest of the web says about you).
Distance you cannot change. Relevance and prominence you can, and that is the work. Anyone who promises you the number one spot is selling something Google does not sell.
What we do each month
- Categories. The right primary category and the right secondary ones. This is easy to get wrong, and it shapes which searches you are even eligible for.
- Service area. The towns you actually serve, by name: Brandon, Riverview, Valrico, FishHawk, Lithia, Plant City, Apollo Beach and so on.
- Hours. Regular hours kept accurate, plus holiday hours set ahead of time so nobody drives to a locked door.
- Photos. Real photos of your work, your team and your location added on a steady schedule.
- Weekly posts. A post every week with an offer, a recent job or an update, so the profile looks alive.
- Review asks. A simple way for your happy customers to leave a review, and a habit of asking. Reviews come from real customers only. We never buy, trade or write them.
- Review replies. A reply to every review, good or bad, in your voice. A calm reply to a bad review is read by every future customer.
- NAP consistency. Your name, address and phone checked and fixed across your website, Facebook, directories and anywhere else old info is floating around.
Your website is part of this too. A profile that points to a fast site with a page for each service is stronger than one that points to a dead link, which is why we often pair this with website design.
What it costs
Google Business Profile and local SEO work is priced with the package or quoted per project. A profile that just needs weekly upkeep is a different job than a business with three old addresses, a duplicate listing and no reviews. We look first, then quote. Call 813-495-2136.
The part only we can add
Prominence is about how well known you are out here, and that is our whole business. We publish East of Tampa, a free newsletter that goes out Tuesday, Friday and Sunday to about 5,000 local subscribers, with open rates consistently above 30 percent. We run Local Sports coverage of high school sports across the county, and a local business directory at eastoftampa.com/directory with about 480 listings.
A business that shows up in our newsletter, our directory and our social pages is a business people in east Hillsborough have heard of. That is the kind of local attention a profile manager in another state cannot give you. You can see how this fits with the rest of what we do on the case studies page.
We are a husband and wife team in FishHawk, veteran owned, and members of the Brandon Riverview Chamber and the Valrico FishHawk Chamber.

Questions owners ask
What is Google Business Profile management?
It is the ongoing work of keeping your free Google listing complete and active: the right categories, service area, hours, photos, weekly posts, review requests and replies to every review. Most owners set the profile up once and never touch it again. We touch it every week.
How do I rank higher on Google Maps in Brandon?
Google's own ranking guide (linked on this page) names three factors: relevance, distance and prominence. You cannot move your building, so the work is on relevance (a complete, accurate profile) and prominence (reviews, links and a strong website). Nobody can promise a ranking, and you should be careful of anyone who does.
How much does Google Business Profile management cost?
It is priced with the package or quoted per project, depending on how much cleanup your profile and listings need. Call 813-495-2136 and we will look at your profile with you and give you a straight number.
Can you get bad reviews removed?
Removing a review is Google's call, not ours, and we will not promise it. What we can do is flag reviews that look like they break Google's rules, write calm public replies, and help you get a steady stream of new reviews from real customers so one bad review does not define you.
What is NAP consistency and why does it matter?
NAP is your business name, address and phone number. When it is written the same way on your Google profile, your website, Facebook, Yelp and local directories, Google has more confidence about who you are and where you are. Old addresses and old phone numbers floating around hurt you.

- Google Business Profile in RiverviewRiverview is full of families who just moved in and have no plumber, no dentist and no favorite pizza place. They pick off the Google map.
- Google Business Profile in ValricoIn Valrico most customers hear your name from a neighbor first. Then they look you up. Your Google profile is where that recommendation gets confirmed or lost.
